Mourinho will jet in the day after his final game in charge of Real Madrid to seal his mega deal.
That is a commitment of around £50m from owner Roman Abramovich for the second coming of The Special One.
Mourinho
is so keen to get started in his new job he will not waste any time
after Real’s final game against Osasuna at the Bernabeu. He will be
accompanied on the trip by his fitness coach Rui Faria and goalkeeping
coach Silvino Louro.
But
there is no prospect of Chelsea signing Cristiano Ronaldo from Madrid
as the superstar’s relationship with Mourinho has broken down. Although
Mourinho is coming to London on Sunday week – he bought a home in the
capital last year – there are no plans yet to formally announce him as
the new boss at Stamford Bridge.
His
salary this time is around three times what he was paid when he first
arrived at the club in 2004. Real Madrid and Mourinho, 50, confirmed
they will part company at the end of the season. And because the split
has been mutually agreed, Chelsea will not have to pay any compensation
to the Spanish giants.
